Stratford Municipal Airport is situated on a 482-acre parcel of land in the Township of North Easthope,
County of Perth, about 6-km northeast of the City of Stratford.
The airport was expanded to better serve the needs of the business community as well as visitors
to Stratford.
Stratford's airport boasts modern runways and state-of-the-art facilities. The airport is equipped
to handle air traffic ranging from Dash 8s to helicopters.
A flight school is also available.

The airport was developed privately for aircraft operation.

1970's |
The City of Stratford recognized the importance of a municipally owned airport. With the
cooperation of the Federal and Provincial governments the airport was purchased by the city. |

1988
|
A major redevelopment of the Airport began. This project included construction of runway 05/23. Over the
next several years a new terminal, building maintenance shed, private hanger development, fuel
system, expanded apron and upgrade to runway 17/35 was completed.

The final phase was completed when runway 05/23 was extended to 5000 feet. |

With the development of the airport complete, the City of Stratford is in a position to develop new
economic opportunities for its citizens and potential new companies.
Corporate, freight, training and recreational flights make up the approximate 12,000 annual
aircraft movements. The Stratford Airport is home to 43 aircraft at the present time.
