The delivery of electricity in the City of Stratford is the responsibility
of Festival Hydro Inc., the successor company to the former Stratford Public
Utility Commission. Festival Hydro Inc. was formed as required by legislative
changes to the electrical industry in Ontario.
The employees of Festival Hydro Inc. are a diverse group of professionals in
many specialized trades and areas of expertise, who strive to supply your residential,
commercial and industrial electrical requirements to the best of their ability,
while meeting the standards and industry guidelines imposed upon them.
The source of electricity for Stratford is a transformer station owned and
operated by Hydro One Networks, which supplies Festival Hydro Inc. distribution
circuits at 27,600 volts throughout the City. Standard secondary voltages are
120/240 volt single phase, three wire, 120/208 volt three phase, four wire
and 600/347 volt three phase, four wire.
Festival Hydro Services Company is responsible for rental water heaters of
various sizes, sentinel or security lighting fixtures and poles, and is developing
a telecom company, which currently leases dark fiber strands.
