CITY OF STRATFORD NOTIFICATION OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
COMMENCING ON OR ABOUT WEDNESDAY, MAY 23, 2012
Please be advised that Lorne Avenue from Dunlop Place to Humber Street, Stratford, will be temporarily closed to through traffic, local traffic only, on or about Wednesday, May 23, 2012, for approximately 15 days. This temporary road closure is necessary to facilitate construction of the storm trunk sewer installation at the intersection of Lorne Avenue and Dunlop Place, and is related to the Southside Storm Implementation, Storm Trunk Extension, Contract No. 12-9673.
A detour route using Dunlop/Griffith/Humber will be provided to maintain traffic flow in the area. Delays are to be expected.

Please be advised that Market Place, North of the island, from Wellington Street to Downie Street, will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic EVERY Sunday from May 6 to October 28, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the Slow Food Market. On or about May 10, 2012 for approximately 8 weeks, the Dufferin Water Tower is being upgraded and repainted. Customers could experience pressure fluctuations and/or some discoloured water. Water quality is not affected by this colouration. Discoloured water will clear, but before doing laundry, please check to see that water has cleared. Now as of October 3, 2011, you can call Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255, who will forward your request to the City of Stratford, as well as to its other member utilities.

Notice of Winter Sand Sweeping Operations

Reminder to residents from the Engineering and Public Works Department that during the months of April and May, winter sand that has accumulated can be raked to the edge of the road or the street gutter. Please help street sweeping operations by spreading the sand out in the gutter area. Please do not place the sand in large piles in the gutter or along the road, as the piles can restrict water flow and be a traffic hazard.
